This website was created as a component of a semester-long research project for the Fall 2008 HNRS 1023 “Culture, Kairos, and Critical Composition” course at LeTourneau University, taught by Dr. Annie Olson.
The research project for which this website was created was designed to give students an opportunity to improve their ability to research and write about a topic rhetorically. Students found a topic that interested them personally and paired with another student in the class who was interested in the same or a similar topic. The goal of the project was to find sources on the research topic, analyze and integrate those sources, investigate arguments on all sides of the issue, and produce an 8-12 page research paper giving a well-supported position on the topic. After producing their individual research papers, the students worked together to one collaborative website which summarized the topic for an internet audience using the information gleaned during the research and writing process.
